$10,000 Worth of Little Debbie Snack Cakes Apparently Heisted From Outside Walmart

Deb 1Well, here’s a rather unusual story out of Chattooga County, Georgia.

Shortly after 5:00am Tuesday somebody made off with somewhere in the neighborhood of $10,000 worth of Little Debbie snack cakes, and we’re not even sure if they know what they were stealing or if it was just a pleasant surprise for them when they got to where ever they were going.

Chattooga County Deputy Harley Elliot was dispatched to the local Walmart parking lot and when he arrived on the scene, he spoke with the local distributor for Little Debbie products who told him that he had parked his 8×24 Horton Hauler enclosed trailer on the lot.

He told the deputy that the trailer contained about $10,000 worth of products, and two sets of hand trucks valued at $350 each. There were no Little Debbie logos on the outside of the trailer so it’s not clear if the thief just wanted the trailer or the delicious goodness within as well.

According to that incident report the milk delivery man stated he saw a black Dodge dually truck pulling the stolen trailer out of the parking lot, before heading south on Highway 27.

That incident was quickly posted on social media, by Derek Gabehart with McKay Foods in Chattanooga, the makers of Little Debbie products, and he is asking for help from the public in locating the thief.

The trailer is a 2004 Horton Car Hauler, V-nose, white 8×24 trailer with a roll-up ramp door and black trim along the outside.

Anyone with any information regarding the incident is encouraged to contact the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office immediately at (706) 857-3411.

The company believes the person responsible, may try to dispose of the snack cakes at local trade days or flea markets.
