An 11 year old was boy was taken to Floyd Medical in Rome after sustaining injuries to his neck and legs in an ATV accident on Lakeview Drive off of Sand Valley Road in Centre just before 5:00 Wednesday evening.
The ATV the boy was driving stuck a telephone box as he was riding near the edge of a cotton field near his home. The impact threw him from the vehicle where he was found, he was wearing a helmet however it was knocked from his head during the accident.
Centre Police, Cherokee EMS and a member of the Rescue Squad responded to the scene. We’ll have additional details as soon as the official accident report is released.
