An 18 wheeler accident completely shut down traffic on Highway 278 in Cherokee County Monday. The big rig overturned just after 11:30am near the intersection with County Road 715 – bringing traffic to a standstill for an extended period of time.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report, that 2005 Freightliner was being driven by 63 year old Billy Adams of a Stockbridge, Georgia address.
Adams was listed as being injured in the mishap; however, no additional information about the extent of his injuries was noted on the report.
The cause of that accident remains under investigation by state troopers.
