26th Annual “World’s Longest Yard Sale” – August 1st – 4th

127 4The “World’s Longest Yard Sale” is in full swing – running today through Sunday (August 1st – 4th).

This year’s route stretches a total of 690 miles from Gadsden, Alabama all the way to a point just north of Addison, Michigan.

It’s the perfect opportunity to make room for new stuff by getting rid of your old stuff or you can look at it as an annual “treasure hunt” – because, you’ll find pretty much anything you could ever want along the way – arts & crafts, collectibles of all descriptions, antiques and odds & ends, you name it.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe sale route begins at Noccalula Falls Park in Gadsden atop Lookout Mountain – follow Tabor Road across from Noccalula Falls and stay on the road until it becomes Alabama 176; follow 176 to Dogtown, and stay straight through the four-way stop – the road then becomes DeKalb County 89 and continues through Five Points, Ft Payne and Fischer, through Desoto State Park, and then on to Mentone.

At that point you’ll turn right onto Alabama 117 and follow it into Georgia.
