30 Year Old Rainbow City Murder Investigation Once Again Heats Up

Cold CaseRainbow City Investigators are reportedly working on an unsolved murder case which dates back some 30 years; according to the Gadsden Times authorities are once again looking into the death of Rita Cornutt – who was stabbed to death while working at the Rainbow Drive Mini-Mart back in 1984.

Her body was discovered by a customer shortly before 10:00 on the night of August 6th; she had been stabbed twice – once in the chest and once in the lower back. Approximately $250 in cash and checks had been stolen from the store.

An artist rendering of an individual reportedly seen at the store around the time the incident took occurred has been posted on our website at weisradio.com; authorities would like to question the man in connection with the case.
