ABC 33/40 Chief Meteorologist James Spann And The ABC 33/40 Storm Alert Team Coming To Cedar Bluff

spannThe public is invited to join Chief Meteorologist James Spann, along with meteorologists Charles Daniel, Meaghan Thomas and Brian Peters at Cedar Bluff Park beginning at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday February 5. The crew will arrive in a recreational vehicle sponsored by Burton Campers in Calera, AL.

James Spann will do the weather live during ABC 33/40’s Focus at 4:00, the News at 5:00, and the News at 6:00. In between newscasts, attendees will have an opportunity to take pictures with their favorite meteorologists. Bring your cameras and smart phones!

At 5:30 p.m., James Spann will deliver a short message on severe weather safety. “Our goal is to make sure every family, business and church has a severe weather plan, and knows how they will receive the warnings,” said Chief Meteorologist James Spann.

James Spann1This marks the 19th year that ABC 33/40 has conducted a severe weather awareness tour. “We are excited this year to visit some places we’ve never been, and to present this information in a new and exciting format,” said Spann.
A random drawing will be held for prizes, including James Spann Bobble Head dolls.

The weather can be tricky in February, so dress accordingly for this outdoor function. In the event of inclement weather, a change of plans announcement will be made on ABC 33/40, and city organizers will be notified.
ABC 33/40 encourages school groups, civic groups, churches and others to make signs and gather for their chance to appear on TV.
