A collision involving an 18 wheeler and a dump truck took place at around 8:30am Monday, just past KTH in Leesburg, at Highway 68 and Ewing Gap Road.

The collision left the dump truck on its side, and the cab of the big rig lodged against a small tree. 

According to the Leesburg Police Department accident report, the driver of the 18 wheeler, 43 year old Guadalupe Robert Luna of a Dover, Tennessee address, was carried to Cherokee Medical Center for treatment meanwhile the driver of the dump truck, 51 year old Clarence Edward Tentman of Cedar Bluff, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Cherokee County EMA Director Beverly Daniel responded to the scene following a report of a small fuel spill resulting from the wreck.

Fortunately, no other vehicles were involved in the mishap.
