Accused child killer David Zachary Gresham made his first appearance in court Thursday.

Gresham, the 20 year old boyfriend of Ella Camp’s mother – stands accused of inflicting injuries which led to the death of the three year old.

the Thursday bond hearing in front of a magistrate judge in Floyd County was only a preliminary and was referred to Superior Court, as are all cases involving a murder.

Gresham is currently facing a charge of felony murder along with first degree cruelty to children, aggravated battery and reckless conduct, in connection with the death of Ella Camp

The warrant issued for Gresham, says he “maliciously caused bodily harm” to her at an unknown time and place on September 17th, resulting in trauma to her head and body.

Ella Camp was taken to Floyd Medical Center at about 11:30am on September 17th, and she was later air-lifted to Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital – where she died two days later.

The autopsy report from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has yet to be released,

Gresham has been held at the Floyd County Jail since September 18th, after being picked up on a probation violation.
