The Horton woman accused of taking part in the murder of her 60 year old aunt earlier in the month is now back in Marshall County after being extradited back from Florida.
Elizabeth Dawn Austin, and her husband, Curtis Austin, were arrested by police in Panama City on April 8th; earlier that same day investigators discovered the body of Judith McElroy Carranza in a shallow grave in Etowah County.
The pair stands charged with the murder of Carranza who was scheduled to be a witness in an upcoming child abuse case the Austin’s are involved in.
Elizabeth Austin waived extradition and was booked into the Marshall County Jail late last week (Thursday, April 16th); Curtis Austin remains behind bars in Bay County, Florida.
Both are also charged with armed robbery.
