According to a news release from the Alabama State Troopers Jacksonville Post two people were killed in two separate single-vehicle crashes over the weekend.
The first fatal accident took place just after 3:00am Saturday when 21 year old Alex Thrash from Sylacauga lost control of his vehicle, approximately a half-mile south of Sylacauga, and went off the roadway and overturned.
The report indicated that seat belts were not in use – and that alcohol may have played a factor in the accident.
The second wreck took place at 10:05 that same night, on Alabama 77 around four miles south of Talladega when the vehicle being driven by 59 year old Cutis Waites of Lincoln left the roadway and struck a utility pole.
Again, seat belts were not in use.
Both accidents remain under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
