A Marshall County doctor has been charged with soliciting prostitution; that, after allegedly offering money, or medication, to a female patient in exchange for sexual favors.

Ervin Wells was arrested by Albertville Police on Tuesday of this week at a Marshall County hotel. The arrest was made following a five day investigation conducted by investigators of the Albertville Police Department, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Marshall County District Attorney’s Office and the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners.

An investigation was launched soon after the patient that was propositioned by Wells made a report of the incident.

Officials say they’ve had no trouble with Wells previously; however, they are urging anyone with any information of similar activity to contact the Albertville Police Department.
