Amazon to Add 120,000 Jobs Ahead of Holiday Shopping Season

Amazon(SEATTLE) — Amazon will be adding more than 120,000 jobs as it gears up for the holiday shopping season, the company announced on Thursday.

The seasonal positions will be offered across 27 states at the online retail giant’s fulfillment centers, sortation centers and customer service sites.

“This is our favorite time of year—we love serving customers during the busy holiday season and we’re excited to bring on more than 120,000 seasonal employees this year to support growing customer demand,” Amazon Vice President of Global Customer Fulfillment Mike Roth said in a statement.

The company says it expects to convert many of this year’s seasonal workers into full-time employees.

“Last year alone, more than 14,000 seasonal employees stayed on in regular, full-time positions after the holidays and we expect to increase that number this year,” Roth said.
