Anniston Man Jailed After Tossing Rock at Police Cruiser

CCSO - Kitchens

Using somewhat less than stellar judgment, an Anniston man who was apparently somewhat less than sober – ended up behind bars, after throwing a rock at a police car during the early morning hours of Sunday.

Police Sergeant Chris Sparks told the Anniston Star that 32 year old Justin Kitchens was seen by a police officer at around 12:30am, throwing a rock into the glass windows of the Social Security Office on Quintard Avenue.

Kitchens allegedly tossed a rock at the police cruiser – striking the hood of that vehicle, while the officer was still inside.

According to the police report the damage at the Social Security Office came to around $300 – in that report, it was also noted that Kitchens’ was intoxicated at the time.

He may also be charged with throwing rocks into the glass windows of Hayne Accounting & Tax Service on Leighton Avenue – causing about $1,500 in damage there.

Throwing a rock into an occupied vehicle is a felony charge.

Kitchens’ was placed under arrest and his bond has been set at $15,000.
