A three-vehicle crash, March 27, claimed the life of a Anniston man and injured another. Mario Lavonte Scales, 26, of Anniston was killed when he lost control of the 2001 Ford Taurus he was driving and collided with a 2004 Ford Taurus driven by Ronald Winsett, 61, also of Anniston.
Scales, who was not using a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Winsett was transported to University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital for treatment of his injuries. A third driver, Bryon Ross McCormack, 54, of Oxford, was not injured.
The crash occurred at 9:45 p.m. on Choccolocco Road four miles east of Anniston. Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
