2014 Crappie USA Tournament Held On Weiss Lake

Anglers from across ten states gathered in Leesburg on Saturday for one of the Southeast’s premiere fishing tournaments – The Annual Crappie USA Fishing Tournament and Kids Fishing Rodeo.

Darrell Van Vector who is the President/CEO for Outdoor Promotions, Inc. said that this years event was a large success.

A total of 39 teams registered for the event, with the local team of Carlton Teague and Adam Mobbs taking home the first place with a total of 7 fish and an overall weight of 7.12lbs.

Local sponsors for the event included The Town of Leesburg (who also sponsored the ‘Big Fish’), WEIS Radio, the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism and the Weiss Lake Improvement Association.
