DeAnthony Reginald Miller and Meghan Ann Jones

Three individuals have been taken into custody in connection with the shooting death of an Oxford man Sunday.

According to Calhoun County Sheriff Matthew Wade, at 10:47am sheriff’s deputies received a call reporting a man suffering a gunshot wound; when deputies arrived on the scene, they found Antonio DeVaris Swink shot once in the chest. 

He was rushed by Oxford EMS to the Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

According to a News Release from Sheriff Wade, investigators have arrested two Eastaboga residents in connection with the crime: DeAnthony Reginald Miller age 21 and Meghan Ann Jones, age 25.

Also taken into custody was a Dearmanville resident identified as 22 year old Albert Edison

Authorities say the motive appears to have been attempted robbery.

Court dates and bond have yet to be set.
