Attalla Woman Arrested on Drug Charge After Three Year Old Found Wandering Streets

ECSO - Lopez

A 21 year old Gadsden woman was arrested, after her three year old son was found wandering in a restaurant parking lot alone, on Wednesday (April 3rd) morning.

The child was found behind Magic Burger on Cleveland Avenue in Attalla at around 8:45am.

Attalla Police Officers and Department of Human Resource workers took possession of the child and began a search of the surrounding neighborhood in an effort to find out where he lived.

They eventually located a house in the 3600 block of Madison Avenue where the front door was open.  The woman inside said she was the boy’s mother, and said she had taken medication for a headache, then apparently fallen asleep.

A search by officers turned up several tablets, later identified as Hydrocodone pills.

Faith Lopez was taken into custody on drug possession charges, and was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center on $2,500 bond.
