Officials have buried the carcasses of more than 300 chickens that had been illegally dumped on an isolated Etowah County Road.
ABC 33/40 reports, that according to Etowah/Gadsden EMA Director Mike Bryant – the incident came to light on March 18th when the carcasses were discovered along the abandoned roadway.
Bryant also said someone had called the Three Corners Landfill in Cherokee County the past two weeks, asking how much it would cost to dispose of about 300 dead chickens – however, nothing came of the conversation and the caller never actually showed up.
Investigators have yet to determine exactly how the chickens died – saying they showed no signs of disease.
