The body of a man, missing since witnesses said they saw him jump from the bridge near Grizzard Park, has been recovered.

An off duty firefighter, who was fishing on the Etowah River discovered the body of 22-year-old Rickey Dylan Sisson Tuesday about two miles from the bridge.

Sisson was pronounced dead by Deputy Floyd County Coroner Gene Proctor at 1:45 p.m. Sisson apparently jumped from the bridge on the bypass into the water on the evening of February 23 during heavy rains.

The high water levels complicated the search. His body is being sent to the GBI Crime Lab to get a confirmation of the cause of death, which is believed to be drowning.
