Betty Ruth Acker Jordan, age 78 of Centre, passed away Saturday, October 26th at Floyd Medical Center.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday, October 28th at the Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Smart and Rev. Leon Smith officiating; burial will follow in Hebron Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday.

Pallbearers include P.D. Wheeler, Jr., Donnie Lambert, Ben Arnold, Dwight Bobo, Jonathan Ledbetter, Glen Montgomery and Michael Walker.

Survivors include sons, Phillip W. (Tammy) Jordan of Centre and Darron (Misti) Jordan of Centre; sister, Sue McCarley of Piedmont and grandson, Alex Jordan of Centre. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.D. Jordan and brother, John Ray Acker.

Mrs. Jordan was a native of Cherokee County, the daughter of the late Roy Paul and Myrtle Bell Pledger Acker, was retired from the Cherokee County Board of Education and was a member of the Unity Hill Baptist Church.

The family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to care givers Frances McCarley and Betty Jordan, as well as Amedisys Home Health Care.
