Betty Sue Early White

Mrs. Betty Sue Early White, age 73, of Armuchee, GA passed away August 11, 2013 in a Rome medical facility.

Mrs. White was born in Cedar Bluff, Cherokee County, Alabama November 2, 1939, the daughter of the late Clyde Harper Early and Tillie Irene Sitton Early. She had lived most of her life in Floyd County and was a member of the Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Cedar Bluff High School in Cherokee County, Coosa Valley Technical School (now Georgia Northwestern Technical College) with an LPN degree. Mrs. White was a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse who worked at Floyd Medical Center nursery, and labor and delivery; Redmond Regional Medical Center , nursing homes and home health care agencies. Mrs. White also was a caregiver and sat with many people in their time of need, and served as an advocate for many years with special needs children. Mrs. White was prceded in death by her first husband Herman Donald Early December 17, 1966 to whom she was married February 2, 1965; her parents, and a brother Charles Thomas Early on September 10, 2007.

Survivors include her husband Jerre Davis White, to whom she was married December 23, 1970; son James David White and his wife Misty, of Rome; daughter Angela Marie White Shelley and her husband Jeffrey of Kingston; two grandchildren Jayden and Malachi Shelley of Kingston; step daughter Rhonda White Cornett and her husband Lamont and step grandchildren; a brother Billy Carlton Early and his wife Betty Sue; sister Syble Early Warbington; Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Tuesday, August 13, 2013 in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Sr.’s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Avenue, Rome with the Reverends Mac McCurry and Clyde Hampton officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 9 until 11 AM and at other hours will be at the residence of the son David White at 13 Butternut Lane NE.
