The Blood Assurance Bloodmobile was at Cherokee Medical Center Monday, collecting blood donations for hospitals in the area.

Those donations go to help your neighbors who may need blood in cases of accident or surgeries.

According to Felicia Atterton with Blood Assurance one particular blood type is especially needed.

Donors who give blood during the month of October will be entered into a drawing for a grocery store gift card valued at 500-dollars.

The drawing will be held on November the 1st.

Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with parental consent) and weigh at least 110 pounds.
