Board Of Education Receives A+ Report From Cenergistic Energy Group

energyIt was a very lengthy agenda for the Cherokee County Board of Education on Thursday with the majority of discussion centering on an update from the Cenergistic Energy Company.

Russell Jacoway, who serves as the company liaison for Cherokee County told the board that they have already seen sharp declines in utilities across the board in all five schools and in the months and years to come anticipates to see those figures improve even more.

Jacoway said that thus far the program has been a great success in Cherokee County and that’s due in large part to the cooperation of the faculty and staff at each school.

In other business board members received for review a receipt of a 2015 Bank Reconciliation, Cash Balance and Financial Report; Reviewed the Accounts Payable for September of 2015; received a Review of the Revised Sex Offender Policy; received a Review of the Revised Complaints and Grievances Policy;  adopted the Revised Substitute Teacher Policy; approved the Auxiliary Teacher Salary Schedule; approved the McKinney-Vento Liaison Salary Schedule; approved an Amendment to the Participant Agreement with Tallassee City Board of Education for AASB & Fairbanks, LLC Medicaid Administrative Claiming Program; approved an Rental Agreement with Five Star Food Service for the Cherokee County Career & Tech Center; Approve Out of State Travel; approved a Contract with Dr. Matthew Remick of Pitts & Associates for Behavioral Evaluations and Consultations and approved the Sand Rock Title I Tutor Contracts with Carlie Larson, Rebekah Crane, Wendi Tinsley and Molly Jordan.

The board also approved Out-of-State Travel for Dexter Vines and Spring Garden FFA Students and Sand Rock FFA Students to attend the Annual National FFA Convention in Louisville, Kentucky on October 27-31 to be funded by the local chapter and vocational travel and Ben Johnson and Sand Rock FFA Students to attend the Sunbelt Ag Expo in Moultrie, GA October 20-22 to be funded by parents/students.

Tutor Contracts for Cherokee County High School Title I was also approved with Brooke Eubanks and Carol Oliphant effective October 19, 2015-May 27, 2016.

Annual bids for fuel, propane, paint, garbage services, tires and HVAC were also approved.

Superintendent of Education Mitchell Guice was pleased to report that at this time the board had no jobs to be posted.
