Body Found in Gadsden Home Believed to be Murder Victim

Cherry 1The victim of what appears to be a homicide, was found in an unoccupied house in Gadsden on Monday. Gadsden Police Officers were dispatched to a vacant residence on Henry Street around noon that day, where they discovered the body of a black male.

The body was later identified as that of 34 year old Derrick Lydell Cherry.

The cause of death has yet to be released. It’s believed that Cherry had been dead for about eight hours prior to the body being found.

The investigation is on-going.
