The body of a Calhoun County man missing since Saturday was discovered in a Cleburne County lake Tuesday morning.

Calhoun County Chief Deputy Matthew Wade said the body of Jayrd Blake Calloway, 29, was found inside his 2007 maroon Jeep in Highland Lake off Highland Lakes Boulevard three miles east of Oxford.

Diving crews found the Jeep this morning, and Calloway’s body was removed this afternoon.

The body has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy. Chief Wade said there were no obvious signs of trauma.

According to Alabama State Troopers, Calloway’s Jeep apparently left the roadway, struck a utility pole and overturned into the lake.
