With each item on the agenda approved without dissent, the board approved the resignation of Adam Careaga, JAG Specialist at Cherokee County Career and Technology Center, effective January 1st.
Several leave of absences were approved, including that of Lisa Manley, Family and Consumer Science Teacher, currently on Medical leave through May 23rd under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Bridgett Beuckens, also a Nurse at Sand Rock School, was granted a Maternity Leave under FMLA from January through March of next year. Additionally, Sally Campbell, Instructional Paraprofessional at Sand Rock School will take an educational leave of absence from January 15th to May 6th.
Tracy Hutcheson was moved from 8-hour Special Education Paraprofessional/Bus Aide to 7.5-hour Special Education Paraprofessional, effective two days ago, December 1st.
The board will now be looking to fill the positions of JAG Specialist at Cherokee County Career and Technology Center, as well as two Bus Drivers, one for a recently added bus route and the other for a route yet to be determined.
Lastly, a new salary schedule was approved for a Special Education Paraprofessional with Nurse Duties.
The next board meeting is set for December 17th at 6pm at the Cherokee County Board of Education’s Central Office.
