Snitker, 60, had been the interim manager for the Braves since this past May, when manager Fredi Gonzalez was fired. After taking over, Snitker led the team to a 59-65 record.

“Brian earned this opportunity through his dedication to the Braves and to our players,” Braves general manager John Coppolella said in statement Tuesday. “We are excited for the energy and momentum he will bring into SunTrust Park next season.”
