A former Leesburg Police Officer has been arrested for Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.

According to reports 26 year old Timothy Bron Bolton was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center on those charges just after 1:30 this afternoon and bonded out a short time later.

Leesburg Police Chief Lanny Ransum told WEIS Radio News that Bolton resigned his position prior to his arrest. Chief Ransum said that the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office conducted the investigation and that details remain vague.

Bolton was hired by the Leesburg Town Council back in April and was serving on a six month probationary period while attending the police academy at JSU.
