WEIS Radio News has learned that a Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department Supervisor has been placed on administrative duties after a temporary restraining order was filed against him in Cherokee County Circuit Court back on June 26th.

Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver declined to comment on the situation however WEIS Radio News has learned that as a precautionary measure Sgt. Camp Reese has been placed on desk duties and was ordered to turn in his firearm until the issue is resolved in court.

The incident stemmed from an apparent domestic situation that occurred at Reese’s residence between he and his now ex-wife.

According to documents filed at the Cherokee County Circuit Clerks Office, a final hearing on the matter is set for September 30 at 9:00 at the Cherokee County Courthouse.

If there are no further issues between the parties between now and that time then the case will be dismissed.
