Burglary Suspect Held at Gunpoint by Homeowner; Four Arrested

caught 5

Well, that didn’t exactly go according to plan.

Four people were reportedly caught breaking into a Mayo Road residence in Boaz when the homeowner arrived unexpectedly.

According to that incident report, while pulling into the driveway, the woman saw someone climbing out of a bedroom window.

Three of the individuals managed to escape in the vehicle they had arrived in but the fourth – identified as 27 year old Ace Antonio Pierre Belcher, found himself being held at gunpoint, by the homeowner’s boyfriend, until deputies arrived on the scene.

Altoona Police Officer Tyler Young spotted the getaway vehicle about a mile from the scene, and at that point made the stop, and arrested the three occupants – Randy Joe Mabe, age 34; Erica LaShae Hicks, age 29 and 38 year old August Jack Tanner.

All four subjects were charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, Theft of Property 2nd Degree and Possession of Burglary Tools.

About $1,000 in property taken from the home was found inside the vehicle.

Belcher, Mabe, Hicks and Tanner all remain in the Etowah County Detention Center.
