Calhoun County 9-1-1 Director Now Back on the Job After Arrest at Atlanta Airport

JenkinsAfter being placed in Administrative Leave – the Calhoun County 9-1-1 Director is officially back on the job today (Wednesday, July 8th).

Kevin Jenkins was re-instated during a Tuesday night meeting of the 9-1-1 District Board of Commissioners.

Jenkins was arrested at the Atlanta Airport on June 28th after being found in possession of a loaded gun at a TSA Security Checkpoint.

He was reportedly carrying a weapons permit that had expired two years ago. Jenkins was placed on leave following his arrest.

According to an ABC 33/40 report, 9-1-1 Board Chairman Mike Fincher stated “Following a lengthy investigation by the board, Mr. Jenkins will be re-instated,” adding “…this is the end of our statement.”

One board member did say publicly that no intent was found on Jenkins part.
