Calhoun County Fire Chief Killed In Three Car Crash

A Calhoun County volunteer fire chief died Friday in a three-vehicle wreck. Alabama State Troopers said Tracy Oglesby Sanders, 44, of Lincoln, was killed when the 2008 Ford F-250 she was driving was struck by a 2009 Peterbilt tractor-trailer on Alabama Highway 77 at 1:20 p.m. The crash occurred one mile south of Ohatchee.

Sanders, who was identified as the chief of the Mount Olive Volunteer Fire Department by the Anniston Star, was taken to Regional Medical Center where she later died. The tractor-trailer driver Zendell Ellis King, 57, of Arab, was not injured. A third person who was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu was also uninjured.

No more details about the accident were released as troopers continue to investigate.
