Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office Hosts 9th Annual “Turkey Fry” For the Community

Calhoun County Turkey Fry

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, was perhaps the most feared organization in the world this week – at least among turkeys.

The organization held their 9th annual Turkey Fry on Wednesday with deputies preparing almost 200 birds for the community.

Many of the turkeys were delivered to the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home Foster Families and area women’s shelters as well as other charitable organizations.

Calhoun County Sheriff Larry Amerson said that the annual event was one of the ways his office says thanks to the community – calling it an opportunity for law enforcement and the citizen’s of the county to work together for the greater good of those in need.
