Calhoun County Woman Walks Away From Work-Release Program

YoungThe search continues for an escapee from a work release program in Birmingham.

42 year old Sharon Ogle Young, a resident of Calhoun County, was serving 25 years behind bars for shooting her common-law husband back in 2004.

Young made her escape Saturday night and was last seen in Bessemer shortly after 6:00pm, where she apparently walked away from a work detail, although the Alabama Department of Corrections did not give the exact location.

She was last seen wearing a black and white tiger striped shirt with black dress pants and a brown pair of shoes; Young is approximately five-feet-five (5’5”) weighing 180 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.
