In boys baseball Friday Cedar Bluff defeated Spring Garden 5-4 and 6-1 to advance to the third round of the AHSAA playoffs where they will meet South Lamar. Cedar Bluff record currently stands at 22-6 while South Lamar will sport a 22-8 mark when the two teams clash.

In class 2A, Section advanced with a sweep over Westbrook Christian. The Lions took the first game by a 7-5 count and then closed out Westbrook in the nightcap 5-1. Section meets Randolph County next Friday.

Piedmont didn’t allow a run in either of their games against Whites Plains as the Bulldogs advance to Round to round three in Class 3A. Piedmont captured the opener 4-0 and then blanked White Plains in the series finale 7-0. The 10th ranked Bulldogs are currently 27-6. They will await the winner of the Winfield and Cordova series.
