Cedar Bluff Purchases New Fire Truck

CB Fire TruckResidents in the Town of Cedar Bluff can rest assured that they are protected by the men and women of the Cedar Bluff Fire Department and on Wednesday the Cedar Bluff Town Council proved just how important the safety of their citizens is.

In a decision that was a must – the Town and its Fire Department has added a brand new fire truck to its fleet.

Cedar Bluff Fire Chief Matthew Sprayberry told WEIS Radio News that the previous truck had become a huge safety concern to not only his firefighters but also to the public due to mechanical malfunctions.

The vehicle is an E-One Freightliner manufactured out of Ocala, Florida and is one of the safest models available to fire departments across the U.S – Billy Atchison with Fairhope based Sunbelt Fire told us his story and why feels making sure fire departments are properly equipped is important to him.

Cedar Bluff Mayor Tammy Crane wants her citizens to know that this decision was not a “want” but an immediate need for the Town and that neither she nor the council had planned on spending the $205,000 it cost to purchase the vehicle.

The Cedar Bluff Fire Department and the Town of Cedar Bluff wishes to extend their thanks to the Sunbelt Fire Company for their assistance in finding the right vehicle to better the citizens of the town.
