Cedar Bluff Woman Has Minor Injuries After Being Struck by Vehicle Monday Evening

According to Centre Police Department incident reports – a 44 year old Cedar Bluff resident was struck by a vehicle, while walking on the Cedar Bluff Road in Centre Monday evening at around 7:10.

Officers arrived to find the pedestrian at a residence on the Cedar Bluff Road and she stated that she had been walking on the shoulder of the northbound lane when she was hit by a vehicle going in the same direction.

The vehicle struck the victim’s left arm, which did require medical attention; after being hit, she picked up a passenger side mirror from the roadway, which had been left by the vehicle and went to a nearby residence for help.

While police continued to question the victim the driver of the vehicle involved – an 18 year old Centre woman, showed up confirming that she had indeed been traveling toward Cedar Bluff when she heard a loud “thump” – she then braked, and stopped in a church parking lot just down the road; after seeing the damage to her vehicle she called her mother explaining what had happened then went to pick her up.

They returned to the scene, then began looking along the side of the road in an effort to find out what the vehicle had hit.  When the pair saw the ambulance, they came to the home and explained to police what had happened.

The driver stated that she didn’t see anyone, but did hear a noise.  The report indicated that the front passenger fender had a dent in it, and the passenger side mirror was broken from the impact.

No charges have been filed in connection with the incident.
