Centre Man Arrested in Floyd County Georgia / UPDATED

CCSO - Cole 2

The Centre Police Department was notified at approximately 1:00pm Monday that a red Ford F-150 pickup truck had been stolen from the nearby Texaco. Officer Moses responded to the scene and began gathering information, and after establishing the direction of travel, Police Chief Kirk Blankenship requested that dispatch notify Floyd County authorities.

Cave Spring Police soon located the vehicle at a residence on Jackson Chapel Road and reported that the driver had fled into a wooded area – Floyd County authorities responded with a dog team and gave chase to the suspect.

Chief Blankenship and Officer Moses also traveled to the area to provide assistance.

It was soon discovered that the man was in a church just across the Polk County line, and shortly thereafter, law enforcement took 39 year old Centre resident Jamie Leonard Cole into custody at the scene – charging him with Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, Obstruction and Driving on a Suspended License.
