Centre Man Charged with DUI/Any Substance Following Leesburg Auto Accident

Z 4A Centre man was charged with Driving Under the Influence following a two-vehicle wreck in Leesburg Tuesday.

The accident took place just after 12:00 noon near the Coosa Corner convenience store and involved a 2003 Ford Crown Vic, being driven by 46 year old Larry Bodily, and a 2007 Ford Excursion being driven by a Gaylesville resident.

BodilyAccording to Leesburg Police Chief Lanny Ransum, Bodily was arrested on a charge of DUI/ Any Substance and transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center; according to the Sheriff’s Office website, Bodily has since been released to a bonding company.

The driver of the Ford Excursion was reportedly shaken up in the accident however no one was transported from the scene by ambulance.

Leesburg Police and Firefighters along with Cherokee EMS responded to the accident.
