Centre Police Investigators arrested a Gadsden man on Tuesday on a laundry list of charges including three traffic citations.
According to Centre Mayor Tony Wilkie, Narcotics Investigator Leigha Blake was working traffic overtime on Tuesday when she pulled over a vehicle being driven by 22 year old Christopher Monroe Coates of Gadsden.
Following citations for Speeding, Failure to Produce Insurance, No Tag and Open Container – a consent search turned up a handgun along with a large amount of marijuana which led to Coates additionally being charged with the Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of a Concealed Weapon.
Coates remains lodged in the Cherokee County Detention Center being held on a $3,000 bond.
Investigator Blake was assisted by Officer Will Clark and K-9 Officer Billy Roche.
