Centre Police Chief Says Kids Who Skipped Class On Wednesday Did NOT Bring Knives To School

Several reports on social media quickly surfaced on Wednesday saying that  two Centre Elementary School Students brought knives to school and made threats to other students.

We promptly placed a call to Centre Police Kirk Blankenship and he was able to shed some truth on the situation.

Chief Blankenship said that no call actually came in from the school, stating that a worker with DC Gas noticed two kids walking on Park Street early Wednesday morning and notified Cherokee County 9-1-1 because they looked too young to be alone.

Chief Deputy Tim Hays and Centre Officer Bobby Winters went out to Park Street where they were met Elementary School Teacher Skylar Ray picked them up and took them back to school.

No one was hurt and NO knives were involved
