It was a brief meeting for the Cherokee County Board of Education on Tuesday – the board appointed Board members Lisa McKissick and Lynn Rochester to serve as Delegate and Alternate Delegate to represent the board at the AASB Delegate Assembly.
The board also approved the Energy Saving budget for Centre Elementary School. Several revised policies were also approved including the Travel Expenses Policies C-23 & G-33, Conflict of Interest Policy G-7, Automated External Defibrillator Policy, Cash Management for Federal Funds Policy, Determination of Allowable Costs Policy, Procurement Policy and the Anaphylaxis Preparedness Policy.
A bid for the replacement of bleachers at Cedar Bluff and Sand Rock Schools were also accepted in the amount of $435,000 from Boatner Construction.
Personnel Items approved included the resignation of Amy Blalock, Instructional Paraprofessional at Centre Elementary School.
21st Century Supper Program effective December 5th will include Pam Flynt – Cedar Bluff, Lisa Davis – Cedar Bluff, Carol Rosser – Centre Elementary, Patricia Spurling – Centre Elementary, Wendy Stone – Gaylesville and Jennifer Stewart – Gaylesville
21st Century Contract Employment included – Melissa Sliger, 21st Century Lead Teacher at Centre Elementary.
Classified Placements – Cristal McElroy, Instructional Paraprofessional at Cedar Bluff and Sheron Hill, 4 hour CNP Worker at Cherokee County High School.
Supplement Changes at Sand Rock included the removal 0f Tim Hartman for cleaning the gym following basketball games in the amount of $1,080 and replace with Tommy Baswell for the same amount.
Supplement additions at Cherokee County High School included – Kim Nichols, Boys Golf Coach – $1,000, Neal Wester, Basketball Coach – $5,220, funded by the Tip-Off Club and Leah Nelson, Basketball Coach, $836.00 also funded by the Tip-Off Club.
A Leave of Absence was also granted for Amanda Monteith.
