It was a lengthy agenda for the Cherokee County Board of Education on Thursday with the board approving the proposed Substitute Bus Driver Salary Schedule change as was presented back during the April 18 meeting.
Gwyn Griggs with the Alabama Examiner of Public Accounts presented the audit report for Fiscal Year 2016 with there being no findings to report.
The board received for review the revised bids and quotation policy F5, the 2017-2018 Student Code of Conduct Handbook and the H53 Wellness Policy.
Approval was granted for Cedar Bluff School to finance a John Deere mower with Ag-Pro, the 2016-2017 Textbook Adoption Committee was also approved with those members being; Renee Williams and Sandi Wolf serving as community/parent members and Denise Griffith, Colleen McGinnis, Lisa Miller, Deanna Murphy and Kim Prater serving as system representatives for science grades k-12.
Out of State travel was approved for Andrea Taylor, Julie Graves, Beth Sewell and the Cherokee County High School Cheerleaders to perform at the Tennessee Titans halftime extravaganza in Nashville on August 19th at no cost to the board in addition to Lisa Bates and the Sand Rock Lady Wildcats Basketball team to attend a team camp play date at Northwest Whitfield High School in Georgia on June 19 at no expense to the board.
