Cherokee County Commission Addresses Appointments, Reappointments and Job Postings

Cherokee County CommissionMonday morning’s meeting of the Cherokee County Commission was made up in large part of appointments and reappointments to various boards and of jobs being posted.

Four members of the Cherokee County Library Board of Trustees were all reappointed with the term for Becky McMichen running through January, 2018 – while the terms for Margaret Hillhouse, John Usry and Marion Formby will run through January, 2020. Chelsea Agan will fill the unexpired term of Pan Hoffer on the Cherokee County Park Board, with that term set to end in January of 2019.

Job postings include the position of a Probate Office Clerk in addition to two at the Highway Department for the posts of Highway Maintenance Technician-1. Additionally, the Highway Department received approval to promote Bobby Jo Stinson, from the position of HMT-1, to the job of Heavy Equipment Mechanic; the Commission also posted a job opening for a part-time Librarian at the Cherokee County Library in Centre. There are also openings for two positions at the County Revenue Office, one for an Appraisal Collection Clerk and one for an Assessment Collection Clerk.

The Commission also approved April 18th – 23rd as the annual Countywide Cleanup Week, in conjunction with Alabama PALS.

The next meeting of the Cherokee County Commission is scheduled for Monday March 28th starting at 5:00pm in the County Administration Building in Centre.
