Commissioners Marcie Foster and Randy Jones each took the Oath of Office during the most recent meeting of the Cherokee County Commission, retaining their posts in District #1 and District #3 respectively, in the November 8th General Election.
There were several appointments/reappointments during that meeting, with Joan Williams being named to the Cherokee County Library Board – to fill an unexpired term which will be ending January, 2020. Tom Harton, James Maples and Tommy Miller were all re-appointed to six year terms on the Cherokee County Healthcare Authority.
Meanwhile, in other business, a bid for a pair of pull-behind rotary cutters, was awarded to Garrett Ford Tractor in the amount of $24,572.
The Commission also voted to amend the budget for the Probate and Motor Vehicle Offices; voted to once again to participate in the WEIS Radio Shop at Home campaign; approved the annual contract with Integraph for mapping services in the amount of $5,000; Commission members also approved Master Software agreements for the Revenue Office, Probate Office and Motor Vehicle Office software and support.
The next regular meeting of the Cherokee County Commission is set for Monday, November 28th at 5:00pm, being held in the Administration Building located on the Cedar Bluff Road in Centre.
