Cherokee County Commission Meeting

The County Commission gathered in regular session on Monday morning, at the Cherokee County Administration Building – and they covered a variety of topics, including:

  • Approving a Job Posting for a Probate Clerk position, at the Probate Office
  • Approved the Insolvents, Errors and Taxes in Litigation for the year 2022, and the Uncollected Insolvents and Taxes in Litigation for Previous Year(s)
  • Declare to be sold as surplus – at the next available public auction, a 2022 Mercedes Sprinter vehicle that is owned by Animal Control
  • Approved two brand new Deputy Sheriff positions – for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office (Full Time Positions)
  • Amend the Personnel Policy to allow up for a total of 7 new staff members, to serve as, “Highway Department Seasonal Employees”
  • It was also approved to release one million dollars divided equally in ARPA Funds, among the four districts, for paving and road projects.

The next meeting of the Cherokee County Commission, will take place Monday afternoon, June the 26th at 5:00pm, in the County Administration Building on the Cedar Bluff Road in Centre.
