The Monday morning meeting of the Cherokee County Commission was a relatively brief one – with commission members tackling several items in near-record time.

A Memorandum of Understanding was approved between the Commission and Cherokee County Health & Rehab Center for use of the Nutrition Center Van for emergency situations.

It was announced that an appointment to the DHR Board to fill the vacant term of Troy Patterson would be made at the March 24th commission meeting, and it was noted that resumes and letters will be accepted through Wednesday, March 19th.

Three Special Requests for funds were submitted – Chairman Kirk Day

A motion to approve was made by Commissioner Kimball Parker, with a second being provided by Commissioner Carlton Teague with the motion passing.

Also commission members approved a mileage rate of 56 cents per mile be paid to those persons traveling in a privately owned vehicle while on official business for the county.

The next regular meeting of the Cherokee County Commission is set for Monday, March 24th, at 5:00pm – taking place in the County Administration Building in Centre.
