The Monday morning meeting of the Cherokee County Commission was a relatively brief affair.
Among the items on the agenda was an announcement by Chairman Kirk Day – that commission members had accepted the resignation of Virgil Adcock from the Parks & Recreation Board, and that the appointment to fill that unexpired term, would be made during the June 10th commission meeting – resumes for the position will be accepted through Wednesday June 5th.
Dr. David Miller’s resignation from the CED Mental Health Board was also accepted during that meeting; there are now three vacancies on that board, and resumes will be accepted through June 5th.
There were also several requests for special funds, each of which was approved.
the Commission also adopted a resolution declaring May “Older Americans Month” in Cherokee County – and at the close of Monday’s meeting – commission member Kimball Parker took time to congratulate the county’s high school sports teams for their dedication, hard work and success.
The next regular meeting of the Cherokee County Commission will be held Tuesday May 28th at 5:00pm in the County Administration Building.
