A Cedar Bluff man has been arrested, after police say he stole electricity from Georgia Power for more than six years.
According to arrest warrants 41 year old John Michael Kay stands accused of using an illegal tap on a Georgia Power meter, at an address on Old River Road in Floyd County, from November of 2007 to November of 2013.
The electricity allegedly fed a 50-gallon water heater, an electric furnace and a two-ton a/c unit – with the amount of electricity used over the six year period coming to a total of $8,069.16.
