According to Alabama State Trooper accident reports – a 27 year old Cherokee County man was hurt in a Tuesday night accident on County Road 22.

The accident took place just after 9:00pm and involved a 2002 Ford being driven by Hubert Perry of Centre.

WEIS Radio News spoke with Mr. Perry on Thursday morning and he told us that the wreck occurred, when something went wrong with the front-end of the vehicle – possibly with the axle or tie-rod end – causing him to lose control.

The vehicle flipped over, before coming to rest in a ditch. Perry said he was transported to Gadsden Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Perry was outfitted with a neck brace which he hopes to have removed in several days.

He had apparently just purchased the vehicle the day prior to the accident.
